Woman in Shadow by Carrie Stuart Parks

All Darby Graham wants is a much needed vacation.  She's recovering from PTSD and her counselor has suggested a remote Idaho ranch as the perfect spot for her.  He also wants her to check into some strange things that have been happening in the area.  There she meets a deputy sheriff who is also investigating the strange fires in the area.  When she gets to the ranch more strange things happen.  And they are escalating into being dangerous.  It all comes to a head when people at the ranch start being murdered.

Darby has to come to terms with her current situation in life and over come her stumbling blocks that cause her to have PTSD episodes.

A great mystery with some comedy and romance all in one book.  I recommend this book to everyone.

Bristol works for Phoenix K-9 working with a bomb sniffing dog.  She is called in to help find a bomb that has supposedly been planted in a dam in the Twin Cities.  As a child she was caught in Hurricane Katrina and lost half her family in the flooding that occurred. She still has nightmares about being trapped on the roof of her home.  There's no way she wants that to happen to anyone else.  While searching, she encounters her ex-boyfriend, Remington Jones.  Remington is in charge of security at the dams.  Bristol does not take him seriously and doesn't believe he has changed since they went to the police academy.  The terrorist sets his sights on Bristol she won't give up looing for bombs.

This is a great action and mystery.  It is also a great book about forgiveness and letting go of the past.

Breach of Honor by Janice Cantore

What a great book.  It had me hooked from the very beginning.  This is an unusual book as it spans several years.  The details aren’t explained so the reader isn’t bogged down with details.  Leah is a police officer who kills her police officer husband in self-defense.  Many people looked at her husband as the golden boy of the police force and didn’t believe he was trying to kill her.  She is convicted of murder and sent to jail.  In the meantime, Officer Clint Tanner has seen the dark side of Leah’s deceased husband, and believes in her innocence.  While trying to find the evidence that will exonerate Leah, he is threatened.  This is also Leah’s journey to meet God.  She is very angry with God for many reasons.

I recommend this book to all who like a good mystery.

A Man with a Past by Mary Connealy

Falcon can’t remember who he is after getting hit over the head and landing in the river.  He is found by Cheyenne who is running from the reality that the ranch she though was hers, isn’t.  Cheyenne informs him he’s one of the varmints that is responsible for her loss of land.  Also, that he has two other brothers.  While Falcon is trying to remember, someone is still trying to kill him.  This book has a little bit of mystery and a little bit of romance.  Also, a little bit of comic relief thrown in.

This is the second book in the Brothers in Arms series.  I recommend you read the first book to fully understand what is happening in this book.  I have read the first book and it took me a little bit to catch on.  This is a good light hearted read which I recommend.
