Aftermath by Terri Blackstock

A devastating explosion.

Three best friends are at the venue just to hear their favorite band . . . but only one of them makes it out alive.

A trunk full of planted evidence.

When police stop Dustin with a warrant to search his trunk, he knows it’s just a mistake. He’s former military and owns a security firm. But he’s horrified when they find explosives, and he can’t fathom how they got there.

An attorney who will risk it all for a friend.

Criminal attorney Jamie Powell was Dustin’s best friend growing up. They haven’t spoken since he left for basic training, but she’s the first one he thinks of when he’s arrested. Jamie knows she’s putting her career on the line by defending an accused terrorist, but she’d never abandon him. Someone is framing Dustin to take the fall for shocking acts of violence . . . but why?

This is another great who done it by Ms. Blackstock.  A bombing takes out the lives of many people and a politician who is running for president of the United States.  Jamie and Dustin have known each other since they were kids, but have since gone their separate ways.  When Dustin gets arrested for the bombing he doesn't hesitate to call his old friend Jamie, who is a lawyer.  Dustin can't imagine who would hate him so much that they would frame him for the bombing.  The police think they have the one responsible so they aren't looking to hard at anyone else. Jamie's law firm isn't too thrilled with her taking Dustin's case.  Too much notoriety.   If you love mysteries, you'll enjoy reading this book.

I was given this book by Thomas Nelson Publishing via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.  I was not compensated in any way.
