This is the third book in the Annie Pederson series. I highly recommend that they be read before reading this book. Also, they need to be read fairly close together. I read the first two book in the series when they came out. When I started to read this book I felt like I had walked into the middle of a movie. I sort of knew what was going on. It took me a while to figure out who was who and where they fit into the story. It was mentioned that Jon was injured but not how or why. A short blub would have been helpful to refresh my memory. The relationship between characters wasn't clear either unless you've read the first two book.
After I figured out the characters again and the story line, the book held my interest in a typical Colleen Coble book. The villian was a complete surprise surprise and I never guessed who it was.
I would have given this book a 4 star rating if not for confusing beginning I mentioned previously.
I received this book from Thomas Nelson Publishing via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated in any way.
