Ice Swan by J'nell Ciersielski

This was just a mediocre book.  I couldn't really say I even liked the main character, Svetlana overly much.  Her mother was definitely a royal pain who thought the world revolved around her and she ought to be treated like royalty.  Even though they were fleeing for their lives because they were royalty. The story line wasn't bad but I just couldn't seem to get into this book.

The Cryptographer's Dilemma by Johnnie Alexander

A case of coded defense coordinates related to dolls should be easy, but not so when the Japanese Consulate gets involved, hearts get entangled, and Phillip goes missing. Can Eloise risk loving and losing again?

This was a very interesting book.  Eloise is doing work that not many women of her time were allowed to do.  Women weren't even thought capable of doing decoding.  Phillip Clayton is an FBI agent who wants nothing more than to enlist and get into the fighting overseas.  His superior has another mission for him to do.  When Phillip finds out he is expected to work with a woman, he is not happy.  As Eloise and Phillip travel across country to search for answers to codes being shipped with dolls, he realizes that she is an asset to his investigation.  

This book is a mystery.  But I wouldn't class it as a suspense or thriller.  I enjoyed reading it and would recommend it.

This is the second book in the US Marshall series.  It's not necessary to read the first book in the series to read this book.  It might be helpful though to understand some of what is going on in this book.  This book starts up three months after the first book ends where Madison is shot in her home.  The trouble is she can't remember who shot her and killed her husband several years earlier.  As Jonas and Madison try to catch the bank robbers they are still working her shooting. I highly recommend this book for those who like suspense.

Hostile Intent by Lynette Eason

But after a visit to the nursing facility where her mother lives, Ava is attacked walking back to her car. Fortunately, FBI Special Agent Caden Denning arrives in time to help fight off her attacker.

Caden reveals to Ava that she may hold the key to the murders of three families, and he needs her help before anyone else is harmed. The hits show a pattern, and clearly the killer has an agenda. But if Caden and Ava can't discover what it is, Ava may be next on the hit list.

Another great book by Lynette Eason.  I was hooked on the first page.  Ava's dad has been declared dead so she takes an early discharge to take care of her mother.  Caden stops an attack on Ava.  This is an edge of your seat book all the way.  There's some twists and turns along the way that will keep you guessing till the end. 

This  is book 4 in the Danger Never Sleeps series.  It's not necessary to read the first 3 to read this book.

Woman in Shadow by Carrie Stuart Parks

All Darby Graham wants is a much needed vacation.  She's recovering from PTSD and her counselor has suggested a remote Idaho ranch as the perfect spot for her.  He also wants her to check into some strange things that have been happening in the area.  There she meets a deputy sheriff who is also investigating the strange fires in the area.  When she gets to the ranch more strange things happen.  And they are escalating into being dangerous.  It all comes to a head when people at the ranch start being murdered.  

Darby has to come to terms with her current situation in life and over come her stumbling blocks that cause her to have PTSD episodes.  

A great mystery with some comedy and romance all in one book.  I recommend this book to everyone.

Make You Feel My Love by Robin Lee Hatcher

Chelsea in in Chickadee Creek to help her great aunt Rosemary get her antique store back up and running after a fall.  Chelsea is also in town to heal from a bad relationship with a boyfriend that was very possessive.  She hopes he can't find any connections to where she is.  Liam is in Chickadee Creek trying to recovery of his grief of losing his brother to Cancer.  He is an actor that has almost fulfilled his Hollywood dream. Chelsea and Liam find out they have a history through a violin she finds in the antique shop.  

This is a nice cozy read for the beach or setting in front of a cozy fire.

Rising Danger by Jerusaha Agen

Bristol works for Phoenix K-9 working with a bomb sniffing dog.  She is called in to help find a bomb that has supposedly been planted in a dam in the Twin Cities.  As a child she was caught in Hurricane Katrina and lost half her family in the flooding that occurred. She still has nightmares about being trapped on the roof of her home.  There's no way she wants that to happen to anyone else.  While searching, she encounters her ex-boyfriend, Remington Jones.  Remington is in charge of security at the dams.  Bristol does not take him seriously and doesn't believe he has changed since they went to the police academy.  The terrorist sets his sights on Bristol she won't give up looing for bombs.

This is a great action and mystery.  It is also a great book about forgiveness and letting go of the past.
