Taken at Christmas by Jodie Bailey

Mia is assaulted at the Christmas parade and she is convinced someone is trying to kidnap her adopted daughter.  Her deceased husbands best friend, Hayden, has been helping her since her husband was murdered in a robbery gone wrong.  Mia, her husband, and Hayden were police officers.  Mia and Hayden came upon the robbery where her husband was killed. They both are having difficulties forgetting that.  As the story progresses, are more attempts to kill Mia and kidnap her daughter.  Hayden will do anything to protect them both.  This was a great mystery that I didn't figure out till the end of the book.

Letty has been hidden from her uncle for fifteen years.  He wants her fortune and will do anything to get it.  Even to the point of killing Letty.  Pinkerton agent Philip has been hired to find her.  As he travels to find Letty, he comes to the conclusion all is not as it seems.  Letty agrees to accompany Graham to see her mother and claim her inheritance.  Along the way they encounter many difficulties.  This is a good story and I had trouble putting it down.

Defending the Child by Sharon Dunn

 The story begins with Marielle and her foster son running for their lives.  Ian is four years old and saw his mother murdered.  The killers are after him to silence him.  Marielle goes to a deserted summer camp and runs into her former fiancé, Graham, who is a DEA agent.  He helps her and Ian keep one step ahead of the killers.  The story keeps you guessing as to what will happen next and how will they escape. I enjoyed reading this book.
